Keterkaitan Hulpziekenhuiz Wates, HJS (Hollandsch Javaansche School), dan Gereja Kristen Jawa Wates Sebagai Cagar Budaya

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to find out 1) the history of the development of hulpziekenhuiz Wates, HJS (Hollandsch Javaansche School), and the Javanese Christian Church of Wates; 2) the relationship between Hulpziekenhuiz Wates, HJS (Hollandsch Javaansche School), and the Javanese Christian Church of Wates as Cultural Heritage.

This study uses a qualitative approach. The data used in writing are taken from achives, library book and interviews. The result of the research or writing is that there is a relationship between hulpziekenhuiz Wates, HJS (Hollandsch Javaansche School), and the Christian Church of Java Wates as a cultural heritage. All three were formed as a result of zending in the Wates area. Srarting from the establishment of hulpziekenhuiz Wates by Zendingiekenhuis Petronella which later became the first hospital in Kulon Progo. The zending then explanded into the realm of education by establishing HJS (Hollandsch Javaansche School) which later grew under the BOPKRI Foundation. From these two media emerged the Christian congregation in Wates, so that a place of worship was built, namely the Java Wates Christian chrush in 1930. The three buildings are cultural heritage buildings that need to be preserved.
